This page is for you - the meeting planner, where you can get many answers to your questions about what I do, how I do it, and what others say about the work I do ...
- My philosophy
In the spirit of the goal above to help you find the right fit (because I don't want to be in front of the audience any more than you want me to if it won't be a good fit!) I need to listen first to your overview of the purpose of the event and who will be there, as well as your hopes, goals and other desired outcomes. This way I'm better able to suggest what I can do to help you achieve those goals, with a focus on "fit" and "function" first. Then if it looks like something you want to have offered we can also discuss the particulars like timeframes, fee, etc.
Further, whenever possible I am more than happy to do more than just one thing, epsecially when I travel somewhere and time allows, all inclusive. Some speakers charge more if they do more than a keynote or workshop. I don't - I love what I do and want to do whatever I can to help your event succeed and even exceed your goals. It's a key way I can offer something "value-added" compared to what you might have to spend to bring in a comensurate-level speaker to do a topic for you in addition to my already being there. If you call, ask about the CONFERENCE PACKAGE - it includes:
- A keynote to help you open (or close) your conference,
- Up to two (2) concurrent workshops,
- music at an event like an awards ceremony or sing-along,
All for up to two (2) days.
I know that in addition to concern about "fit" you also have concerns about "fee." I want to assure you that the reason I'm still in business since 1994 is because in addition to being good, I'm fair and affordable with my fee. I've found this necessary because so many of the groups I specialize in working with are nonprofit in nature, like schools, cities, and other not-for-profit, service-oriented groups; I know they can't afford many of the speakers on the market. My fee takes into account the purpose and size of the group, how much travel and total time is involved, if there will be additional, future dates of service, among other factors. Discounts can be offset by any of a number of things the group can do in return that have little or no cost to the group, yet have value for me.
So if we talk and then mutually agree the "fit" is good and we get to "fee" - I will be happy to discuss the fair and affordable fee with you.
- Satisfaction guaranteed
My promise to you, the meeting planner, is that I will aspire to the highest ethical and professional standards for speakers in all my dealings with you and your organization. Further, that if upon my completion of all the services we agreed to, if you are not at least satisfied with the work I do, and will share examples of where I fell short of your expectations so that I can learn from the shortcoming, then you don't me my fee - only out of pocket expenses. I'm both confident and comfortable with this policy, as it's what I would expect if I were hiring a speaker. I don't want you to worry about this important investment - you need to feel confident in your speakers so you can focus on other important details and arrangements ...
